History
Built in 1880, the two three-story buildings were known as the Webster Buildings. It housed many different businesses during the first six decades. The ground floor had several grocery companies, including the A & P Tea Company. The upper floors consisted of various enterprises for attorney offices, insurance and real estate offices. After 1938, both buildings were occupied for the Schwob Manufacturing Company. It included their home office, it’s manufacturing plant and a men’s retail clothing store on the first floor. Schwob ended their occupancy in 1974 and both buildings remained vacant. In 1987, Lampton Realty Company purchased the property and began renovating the two structures. All interior walls were removed that weren’t structural, they rejoined both buildings by adding an atrium and completely reworked the face of the exterior walls. The marble that had been installed on the two faces of the exterior walls during a renovation in 1938 was removed, polished and reinstalled as flooring in the common areas and windowsill throughout the building. The exterior faces were covered with granite and dryvit and all window frames and windows replaced. Since 1987, the Hardaway Building has housed many long standing accounting, financial security, law firms and manufacturing corporate offices. In 2009, major internal renovations were made due to a tornado that hit the southeast portion of the building. Since then Lampton Realty has housed many long-standing tenants: First Floor: Morgan Stanley Investment Banking Company, Ameriprise Financial, Neal Howard & Associates, PC. Second Floor: Ledger-Enquirer. Third Floor: Lampton Realty, Standard Concrete Products, Law Offices of Michael Smith and Ellene Welsh

FAQ

How do I add a non-forward facing team member such as a broker coordinator or broker aide to a listing in order to ensure they get notifications on the property?
Please email our support team at [email protected] and they will add the team member.
How do I access a private listing?
Please contact the broker directly with the information provided on the listing. Once the broker approves your credentials he will make the information public to you.
How can I contact the broker
We strongly encourage to message the broker through our portal by clicking on the “Envelope” icon next to the brokers photo on the property page. We’ve found brokers response time is much quicker via our messaging portal than phone as brokers are always on the go.
What is the difference between Tier 1 & Tier 2 in the Due Diligence Vault?
Documents that are placed in a Tier-1 Due Diligence vault require the execution of a Confidentiality Agreement (“CA”) for access. Documents and folders placed in the Tier-2 vault are intended to have an added layer of security and require the execution of a CA in addition to required Broker approval for access.
